PERSONAL NOTE: At the beginning of 2024, I spent an entire month in Barcelona – a long-awaited return after years away. I had lived there in 2012 while studying at my dream university, Universitat de Barcelona, having my own L’Auberge Espagnole (2002) moment. It was a life-changing time that completely reshaped me as a person.
And then, twelve years later, I was back – this time with my daughter growing under my heart. Every day, I wandered through the streets of the city I once called home. It was a very reflective time. I found myself thinking not only about how the city had changed, but also about how I had grown as a person.
Revisiting my favorite spots was one thing, but I also stumbled upon places I’d never known existed, like Jardí Muñoz Ramonet – a small hidden garden just off the bustling Muntaner Street. With its tree-lined pergolas and quiet pond, it felt like stepping into a secret world… and this ornate façade with its wooden shutters, waited there quietly to be noticed.
