PERSONAL NOTE: In the summer of 2022, I spent a week on Brač Island with a group of close friends. We stayed in a traditional Croatian stone house tucked away in the countryside, surrounded by olive trees, relaxing in the constant hum of cicadas.
One evening, we left our hidden retreat and headed toward the nearby port of Sumartin for dinner. As we passed by the bay, the sky began to transform before my eyes. I asked to stop the car and told my friends I would join them in a few minutes, choosing to walk instead.
That was when I captured this serene seascape, where the sky seems to dissolve into the incredibly still Adriatic waters. This is the kind of sunset I like to call milky – soft, muted, and weightless. It carries all the gentle hues of pink and blue that I love most, casting a dreamlike glow over the horizon.
